Assistant Foreman


Description

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Foreman position is to manage a paving crew responsible for the installation, replacement and repair of public pavement.  Paving crews typically consist of a Foreman and Equipment Operators, as well as skilled and unskilled Laborers.

Candidates should possess the following for the position:

Staff management skills

OSHA 10 Certification

8-10 years paving experience with prior experience supervising a paving crew

Interpret plans/drawings and determine best course of action

Oversee the ordering and utilization of materials, determine quantities and schedule delivery

Collaborate with other Divisions/Crews to ensure efficient installation and adherence to schedule

Complete and submit daily work log including crew hours and job charge codes

Document job progress and extra work needed for completion

Operate company vehicle carrying tools and crew

May be required to perform other labor/operator related tasks as necessary in assisting crew with job completion
