Towson High School Project in Towson, Maryland

The Towson High School Project involves a major addition and renovation to the existing Baltimore County Public School facility in Towson, Maryland. Beginning in July 2025, the project spans three construction phases and is scheduled for completion in August 2030. The work includes significant site development, utility upgrades, and full reconstruction of the school’s athletic stadium.

CJ Miller’s scope includes tree removal, selective demolition, mass grading, installation of new sewer and water utilities, and construction of stone and asphalt access roads supported by an automated wash rack system. A large portion of the effort is performed in coordination with specialized subcontractors responsible for stadium turf installation, building shoring, retaining walls, grandstands, synthetic rubber track surfacing, tennis court surfacing, site concrete, landscaping, fencing, and other essential site amenities.

A key engineering component of the project is the stormwater management system, which consists of two substantial underground POD systems—designed specifically to preserve valuable site real estate. The project also features the construction of a new pedestrian bridge that will provide direct access from the school building to the stadium and ballfields.

One of the unique aspects of the project is the precision required in building the athletic facilities. The new turf field and track are laser graded to ensure exact dimensions and tolerances that meet jurisdictional standards for competitive athletic events.

With its combination of structural upgrades, athletic facility reconstruction, and detailed site amenities, the Towson High School Project represents a comprehensive modernization effort for Baltimore County’s historic high school campus.
