Fuel & Lube Driver
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Fuel & Lube Truck Driver to support our civil construction operations by servicing heavy equipment and fleet vehicles at active job sites. This position is essential to maintain productivity by ensuring equipment is properly fueled, lubricated, and serviced while strictly following DOT, OSHA, and Hazmat regulations.
Status: FT/ Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay Scale: $21 – $25 /hr based on experience
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Report to Equipment Manager daily to determine jobsite equipment service needs
- Operate a CDL fuel/lube service truck safely on public roadways and active civil construction sites
- Transport, handle, and dispense fuel, oils, and lubricants in compliance with DOT and Hazmat regulations
- Fuel, grease, and service heavy civil equipment (excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, haul trucks, etc.)
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the service truck and fueling equipment
- Identify leaks, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions and report them immediately to the Equipment Manager
- Maintain accurate fuel usage, service logs, and required Hazmat documentation
- Keep service truck, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with site safety standards
- Follow all company, site-specific, and regulatory safety policies
- Support preventative maintenance efforts to minimize equipment downtime

- An Impeccable Driving Record:Must have an excellent driving record for assurances of safety for all drivers, vehicles, and co-workers
- Customer Service Skills:Must have excellent customer service skills when dealing with clients/co-workers/sub-contractors.
- Knowledge of Truck Mechanics:Should have basic knowledge of how a truck operates and be able to perform repairs as necessary, such as changing a tire.
- Maintenance Skills:A truck driver should be able to perform maintenance tasks that help ensure the truck meets compliance and other safety standards
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License Required
- Hazmat Endorsement Required
- Current DOT Medical Physical Card
- Clean Driving Record (3 Year, Non-Certified Record)
- Minimum 2 years’ commercial driving experience; hauling fuel and prior mechanical experience preferred
- Familiarity with heavy civil construction equipment and job site operations
- Strong understanding of fuel handling, lubrication systems, and spill prevention procedures
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, field-based environments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:
The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Constant physical effort, including standing and sitting, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
- Employee must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform key duties.
- Frequently walk and climb on uneven surfaces of heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and carry at least 30 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools.
- Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the road construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
- The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.
- Full-time position with consistent hours; overtime and weekends may be required
