Poolesville Golf Course Renovation
The renovation of Golf Course at the Crossvines in Montgomery County, Maryland involved significant updates to the cart paths, including asphalt paving and sub-surface drainage improvements. The project was notable for the use of small equipment to remove over 5,400 cubic yards of the existing cart path subbase and unsuitable fill, which was replaced with more than 4,000 tons of hot mix asphalt (HMA). Around 20% of the cart path area was reclaimed, with recycled stone and asphalt millings used to create a stable subbase. Care was taken to minimize environmental impact by avoiding disturbance outside the existing path footprint, thus reducing potential runoff and erosion. New trench drains and concrete curbs were installed, and the project was managed to ensure the golf course remained open with minimal disruption to patrons. Coordination among CJ Miller, MCRA, proshop management, and the course superintendent was key to the project’s success.
